Fourth Series – Poison Bird Blind
The handler is at the top of the hill looking southeast across a big basin, up the opposite side with decoys. The dog runs down along the slope. Three gunners off to the right of the pond are shooting a poison bird towards it: they are standout guns. The blind is on the far right side of the lake. The line is down this side of the basin, across the bottom, and up the far side. They continue down a long slope to the pond, across the right end to the right far corner and the bird. The poison bird is called for as the dog gets to the line. This blind sits approximately 385 yards from the line. This test is taking an average of 7 minutes per dog.
Test Dog "Ace" with handler Peter Ketola kicked off Day Four and the continuation of Test Four. The dog lined from the line into the eater, across the pond and then was unresponsive to several whistles before he got the bird.
