Test Five is
a "Mom & Pop" quad with three retired and an honor. The line faces
due north looking out into a large field. The terrain is hilly, falling
from left to right. The birds are stacked along the upper left hand
side. The "Mom & Pop" are retired in a tree-lined ravine. The order
is the Right Middle ("Mom") at 230 yards throws a dead hen pheasant due
north away from the line. Next the Left Middle ("Pop") at 280 yards
throws a rooster pheasant to the left landing near a large clump of
bushes. The third bird is a hen pheasant shot to the right at 300 yards.
The right flyer guns were originally supposed to be stand-out guns, but
the Judges decided after the two Test Dogs ran that they would retire
behind a blind. The fourth bird, a mallard hen duck, is on the far left
of the test, thrown to the right at 175 yards. The dog must jump over a
large fallen tree trunk to get their bird. After returning from this
retrieve, the dogs must honor on the left of the running dog.
